Product Description:
Air in rooms is often burdened by fine dust, pollen and unpleasant odors as well as viruses and bacteria. But VIKTOR filters all this through a specially developed HPP Filter System TM (International patent application pending), thus permitting you to take a deep breath of fresh air! Small and yet great in his own way - VIKTOR clearly demonstrates what clean air is all about with top CADR values (Clean Air Delivery Rate). The special filter cleanses the air while active carbon eliminates unpleasant odors. And with five capacity stages (extremely quiet to powerful) and dimmable night-mode LED control lights, VIKTOR will always be a fine companion!

Therapure Air Purifier - 17" Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have owned this filter for almost a year.Even though it SAYS the filters never need replacing, they DO!After use any HEPA filter that cannot be washed will need to be replaced after particulate matter is drawn deeper and deeper into the existing filters, that being said, as a filter I have loved the effectiveness. Now on to customer service.....

Seeing that the filters are now in need of replacing, I searched high and low for a replacement. Finally emailed their customer service on the manufacturer's page.I was informed that even though they sell the purifiers on the open market, the only way to get the replacement filter was thru them.OK doable. The problem is this:The unit needs TWO filters to replace the existing ones, they are not sold in sets of two. Moreover, the shipping costs as much as the filters if not more, they also do not bundle the shipping on the two filters even though the item REQUIRES two filters. After paying 13.00 EACH for shipping of these filters, you would think that shipping time would be reasonable.Be prepared to wait nearly a MONTH or 15 BUSINESS days.GMAB.Regular mail takes no more than three days to arrive ANYWHERE in the continental US. Are these being shipped directly from India? There is no tracking info provided so you wait a month and keep your fingers crossed that your product arrives.

Had I not paid so much for the unit in the first place, it would now be filling my local landfill in exchange for something more consumer friendly. By next year, it may be.

****Update after a month I contacted the company about the mysterious filters only to be told that they were on BACKORDER.Now where is that landfill.Hopefully the Sharp FPP60CX that I ordered will make this purifier obsolete.Too bad.... really good system just really poor customer service.

Hunter Fan PermaLife Air Purifier - Gray Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews).....that Hunter has discontinued this product. The "Permalife" filter is anything but permanent, and they are getting harder to get. When you can get them, they run about $90.00 apiece.

I've only had mine since August, and already I've had to change the "Permalife" filter once because it was so clogged up the purifier was bogging down.

Hunter has replaced this unit with the model 30525, which appears to be the same unit but with an available (and cheaper) filter.

This really is an excellent purifier, keeping smoke and cat dander down to nothing, and I love the programming options on it. But I feel a bit cheated because of the "Nonpermalife" filters and it being discontinued so soon after purchasing it.

Caveat Emptor.

Blueair HEPASilent Air Purifier - White (201) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product several months ago as I've suffered most of my adult life w/ allergies. I have my Blueair next to my bed and leave it on almost 24 hrs. a day. The filter is easy to change (approx. every 6 months) & there are multiple speeds so you can control both the flow & the associated noise of the fan. Even on high, the noise is very comfortable; allowing for a good nites sleep. Since I've started using this device, I've noticed a nice decrease in my sinus symptoms (especially during the height of allergy season). The only negative comment that I will make is that there is a blue 'power' light on the front, upper left panel, that is kinda bright and noticeable in a dark room. However, I McGiver'd it by simply putting a bit of electrical tape over it which blocks it out just fine. Even w/ this one point,I would still recommend this product in a heartbeat.

Essick Air ED11 800 Euro Console-Style Humidifier, White Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Does not work as advertised. When set at our preferred 40% humidity, the humidistat room reading reads 45% and never varies.

When the preferred humidity level was set to 50% the fan will run until the humidity level reaches 55% and then shut off. But, after just A FEW SECONDS, the room humidity level reading drops to 47-49% and the fan comes on. Again, it will run for just a few seconds and repeat the above process continually, never staying on or off for more than a few seconds at a time. There is no way humidity can rise or fall that much in just a few seconds.

After calling the factory, they said it was defective and to bring it back to the store. A second unitwas ordered which ended up being no better than the first.

I ended up returning the second unit as well. Stay away from this particular humidifer. It's noisey and cheaply made.

PetAirapy UV Air Disinfector, HVAC System Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I installed the PetAirapy system in our home because our dog had multiple allergies. Every spring and fall he was miserable, and the vet bills each season ran into the hundreds of dollars. He would scratch himself raw, poor thing! After installing the PetAirapy system and giving our pet a good bath, we began to see results in less than a day.Our family has also experienced fewer colds and less problems with stuffy noses and hay fever. My own dust mite sensitivity is non-existant since installing the system.

We are a happier, healthier family - especially our dear, sweet dog - since we got PetAirapy.

Product Description:
Allergens, pollen, bacteria, viruses, mold and germs are all continually circulated through your home by your HVAC system on a day-to-day basis, triggering allergies and asthma attacks. You, your family and your pets are exposed to these irritants with little or no relief. The PetAirapy PA-260 is revolutionary in controlling and purifying the air in your home. The PA-260 consists of safe, powerful ozone free UVC (ultra-violet) light technology to kill and disinfect germs, fungi, bacteria, viruses and mold in the air. Placed directly into your HVAC system or furnace, the PA-260 kills or deactivates the DNA of circulating microorganisms and germs that have been multiplying and growing inside of your home's main air circulation unit. Once this powerful UVC light is installed, it will immediately go to work cleaning and disinfecting your HVAC or furnace - dispersing sanitized, fresh air. With your HVAC system freed of built-up bacteria, mold, fungi, viruses and germs, it will be running smoothly and more efficiently, ultimately saving you money on energy costs.
