Aprilaire 5000 Electronic Air Cleaner Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Very happy with this filter system. It really works to clean smoke from the house. Our house has been closed up for about the past month, running the air. Usually, we get enough cool weather to open windows an night... not this year. Running the variable fan on my furnace constantly on very low and as the air kicks in, I can't even tell we've been smoking as we come in from outside. Very Good!

I had turnd off (unpluged) the electrostatic part for a (I'd thought) day... forgot I'd done it and it went a few weeks before the smoke smell forced me to check it. A few days after repluging it in, the house was clean again (no residual smoke signature)! Had it 6 months or so and will probably replace the filter for first time in another month or 2, since I run it constantly this summer.

#4725 Aprilaire and Space-Gard Seal Kit for the Old Door Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)the space guard seal kit is required for the Aprilaire unit that I have in my home. It is a real hassle to install although the steps are straightforward. You will need some adhesive spray to stick the filter to the door and a scraper to remove the old filter and adhesive from the door. In that regard, Aprilaire made a big mistake in the product design. Why not develop something that already has adhesive on it, or provide the spray? Removal of the old filter is such a pain, but if you want a clean air filter, you have no choice since there's really no other product that can be used. Be ready for what should be a 5 minute project to take an hour (including trip to hardware store for spray).

Generic Spacegard 201 Aprilaire Furnace Air Filter -- MERV 11 -- 2 Pack (2 Filters) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I paid almost double for these filters from the manufacturer. I'm happy to report that the quality of these filters is just as good. I usually choose quality over price but also know that many products can sport equal quality for less when they don't feature a high profile name. This is one of those cases.
