(More customer reviews)We have a Eureka vacuum cleaner, the front labels says "THE BOSS" and "SMARTVAC", the model number is 4870 GZ, serial number 23169 11712, bought from Amazon. My point is, we own one, I'm not making this up, like when some people review a cell phone they do not own.
The filter in question is a secondary filter after the bag that is supposed to stop dust from coming back into the room. It has a clear plastic cover that holds it against the vacuum body so that the airflow must go thru the filter.
This 3M-branded Filtrete filter does not fit in our vacuum cleaner. I could make it fit by shaving off some of the rib material on one side. I would like to tell 3M what the lot number is, but guess what, no lot number. No date code. In fact, no writing on it what so ever. I checked the packaging, nothing there either.
Just to make sure, I put the old dirty Eureka branded HF-2 filter back in, and yes, the cover can close.
I won't give it one star because it can be made to work.
