(More customer reviews)This item was a direct OEM replacement to the filter that came with my unit. My original had a plastic frame while this one has an aluminum one.They also do not have the honeycomb cell shapes (for the charcoal) anymore.
Aside from the obvious shipping materials (which were ample): The packaging for this product is minimal: only a purple bag around it. No pointless extra box or other materials you just end up throwing away. The purple bag is "PE rated for recycling.
My last filter lasted 3 years, which is the same duration they suggested. How I knew it was time to change out the filter was that the unit stopped clearing odors (i.e. cooking, cats) from the room.
I did, however, wash the filter every month or so with Ivory dish soap and warm water.
